We treat many patients from all over the United States and many foreign  countries.  Many leg vein patients can be treated in one visit, but several  many be required if the veins are large and extensive.  In our offices  patient safety always comes first, but, because the injection solutions we  use are extraordinarily safe, it is often possible to treat a large number of  veins in one visit.

LOGISTICS

For hand vein treatment we prefer to see you two or three times during  your stay in New York.  This can be over consecutive days, or spread out if  your stay in town is longer.  Occasionally, at later visits, we remove  residual blood from treated veins.  This is done to accelerate the healing  process and make hands look vein-free faster.  Some patient may be seen  just once for hand vein therapy and have excellent results, but in some  patients it may just take longer for the veins to fully heal.  It is  interesting that two of our hand vein patients have appeared on live TV on  day after hand vein therapy and had no need to "hide" their hands.

When making an appointment, please make sure to tell our staff you  are coming from out of town so we can arrange your visits accordingly.  It is  NOT necessary to discontinue any medications (including coumadin) you are  presently on, before or after treatment.    Treatment will be started at your first  visit.  When treatment is completed you may either fly or drive home immediately.

If you so desire, both hands and legs (and other body areas) can be treated the same day.  It is not necessary to have photos or prior test results sent to  us before treatment.  Most out-of-towners feel that seeing us is as simple as  seeing a local doctor for the first time.

After hand therapy, you will have cotton and surgical tape (like long band  aids) on your hands for two hours, which will not delay going out and  visiting the "Big Apple."  You will also be able to drive whether hands or  legs have been treated.  The only limitation after hand treatment is to not  get your hands wet for the few hours the cotton balls and tape are on.  Your  hands may be slightly swollen, but that will not interfere with sightseeing  (and nobody in town knows you anyway!!).

GETTING TO NEW YORK

By Air

Both John F. Kennedy (JFK) and LaGuardia (LGA) airports are well situated for you to visit either Great Neck or NYC.   The ride from either airport to  Great Neck or Manhattan is about 30 minutes.  Newark airport in New Jersey is  about 30 minutes from our Manhattan office but more than one hour from Great  Neck.

By Train

In Manhattan (NYC), Amtrak goes to Grand Central Station on 42nd Street in  Midtown and our city office is at 92nd street on Park Ave.  Many fine hotels are nearby.  Trains to our Great Neck office leave from Penn Station on 33rd Street.

By Auto

If you choose to visit us by car, we suggest checking with mapquest.com  for the best route.  Long Island is the suburbs and driving should not be a  problem.  If you are staying in Manhattan, be aware that parking is  relatively expensive (Reaching us in Great Neck by the Long Island railroad  may be easier).

ACCOMODATIONS IN NEW YORK

There are two hotel options - You may want to stay in New York City or in
Great Neck, on Long Island.

Staying in Manhattan

Our New York City office in on the Upper East Side at Park Avenue and  92nd Street, only a short taxi ride from midtown hotels.  As for follow-up  visits in Great Neck, it's very easy to take the Long Island railroad from  the city.  The train originates at Pennsylvania station and the ride to great  Neck is a comfortable 25 to 35 minutes.  Trains generally leave for Great  Neck every half hour but leave as often as six times per hour during peak  times.  The train schedule is online at  http://www.mta.nyc.ny.us/lirr/html/ttn/greatnec.htm.
Our Great Neck office is about one mile from the Long Island railroad station,
where taxis are always available.  If you are staying in New York City and driving  to Long Island, the ride is about 45 minutes.  Mapquest.com or the hotel
concierge can direct you from your starting point.  Even after hand and/or leg vein  treatment, you will have no problem driving.

Staying in Great Neck

If you prefer to stay in Great Neck, there are two hotels within a mile  of our office and both are about two-block walk from the Great Neck train  station.  One is The Inn at Great Neck (http://www.innatgreatneck.com/):  phone number is 516-773-2000.  The other one is The Adam at 75 North Station  Plaza: phone number is 516-482-2900.  If you stay in Great Neck, it is  generally easier to train to the city than drive, park, visit various sites  around town and then taxi back to your original parking spot. Should you have any questions at all about your trip, schedule,  restaurants, or lodging, please do not hesitate to contact our office.
